§ Mr. Chris PattenThe Education (Teachers) Regulations 1982 (S.I. 1982/106) empower my right hon. Friend to bar or restrict the employment as teachers or workers with young people of persons determined by him to be unsuitable for such employment on grounds of their misconduct (whether or not evidenced by a conviction of a criminal offence). The procedures for dealing with such cases are described in the Department's "Administrative Memorandum 3/82", a copy of which is in the Library.
