§ Mr. Newton[pursuant to his reply, 25 February 1986]: The National Union of Students submitted written evidence to the review of social security last year. I met representatives of the NUS last week to discuss the relevant aspects of the White Paper on the "Reform of Social Security" (Cmnd. 9691), and the specific proposals which are currently the subject of consultation with the Social Security Advisory Committee and the local authority associations.
