asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will seek powers to require that milk supplied to persons living and working on farms is pasteurised.

Mr. Rifkind

No. Such a requirement would be impossible to enforce. The only effective way of curtailing on-farm consumption of untreated milk is by convincing the dairy farmer and his workers of the increased health risks associated with consumption of untreated milk.
