HC Deb 26 February 1986 vol 92 c596W
Mr. Robert Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will discuss with the Civil Aviation Authority the route of flight DA 7045 from Liverpool to Dounreay on Thursday 20 February carrying radioactive fuel; whether the flight path was logged with and under the control of air traffic controllers at Dyce airport; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ridley

Flight routes are a matter for the aircraft operator and the National Air Traffic Services. NATS has informed me that flight DA 7045 flew from Liverpool to Dounreay in accordance with air traffic control requirements. Because the flight path passed outside the airspace controlled by air traffic controllers at Dyce airport, there was no requirement for the flight to be logged with it or under its control.
