§ Mr. Wareingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services why copies of his consultation papers on the Disabled Persons (Services, Consultation and Representation) Bill were not sent to the Disablement Income Group, the National League for the Blind, and the Liverpool Association for the Disabled; and if he will now do so.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 20 February 1986, c. 316]: As I indicated in my reply to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe on 14 February, at columns 596–97, copies of the Department's consultation paper were sent initially to a number of major national organisations concerned with disability issues. It would not have been practicable to invite comments from all voluntary organisations who might have an interest, but, as I made clear when the document was published, the Department will send a copy on request to any other person or organisation who wishes to have one. The Disablement Income Group has already requested and been sent a copy of the consultation paper, and I am also arranging for copies to be sent to the National League for the Blind and Disabled, and the Liverpool Association for the Disabled and to other organisations which have requested copies.
