HC Deb 26 February 1986 vol 92 c560W
Mr. Hughes

asked the Paymaster General how many persons aged 18 to 25 years are presently engaged in the community industry scheme in the borough of Knowsley; and what change in numbers there has been over the past year.

Mr. Lang

The community industry scheme is for disadvantaged young people aged 17 to 19 years of age. The Kirkby and Knowsley units both recruit from within the Metropolitan borough of Knowsley. In January 1986 it employed 141 young people aged 18 years and over. The corresponding figure for January 1985 was 161.
