HC Deb 25 February 1986 vol 92 c519W
20. Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what representations he has had from disability organisations in relation to the Social Security Bill.

Mr. Newton

Since June 1985 Ministers have had meetings with several organisations representing disabled people including Mencap, MIND, the Spastics Society, the Royal National Institute for the Deaf, the National Deaf Children Society and Age Concern. In addition, a large number of written submissions have been received from a wide range of national and local organisations, many of whom made representations about the needs of disabled people.
