HC Deb 24 February 1986 vol 92 c425W
46. Mr. Nicholls

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what development assistance he is providing to the Gambia.

Mr. Raison

In the present financial year we expect to spend about £5 million on programme aid, project aid and technical co-operation. Much of the assistance is designed to complement the efforts of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in helping the Gambia implement an economic recovery programme. In addition we organised a meeting of donors in London last September.
