HC Deb 24 February 1986 vol 92 c463W
Mr. Wiggin

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is now ready to place the Sharp-Hansford report in the Library and announce the Government's decisions on it.

Mr. Lee

The Government have not yet taken any decisions on the recommendations of the Sharp-Hansford report. They hope to do so in due course once they have fully considered the consultants' recommendations. Copies of the report have been placed in the Libraries of both Houses today.

Mr. Wiggin

asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he has sent copies of the Sharp-Hansford report to all those who were consulted during the course of their inquiry; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lee

Relevant extracts from the report have been sent to the principal parties consulted during the inquiry. Consultation with other interested parties will take place as appropriate. I have nothing to add to the answers I gave to my hon. Friend on 9 December 1985 at column546.
