asked the Secretary of State for Transport how many passenger train miles were run per week during the period from the beginning of November 1984 to the end of April 1985.

The Department does not hold such information for periods of less than a year. Average weekly passenger train miles run by British Rail over the period from the beginning of January 1984 to the end of March 1985 were 3.7 million.
