asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will outline the facilities the British base in the Ascension Island provides for visiting warships.

Mr. Stanley

[pursuant to his reply, 14 February 1986, c. 559]: A limited range of facilities can be provided, where appropriate, to warships visiting Ascension Island, including a mooring; fuel; the loading of small quantities of stores; and some recreational and medical facilities.
