HC Deb 20 February 1986 vol 92 c278W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Attorney-General under what circumstances (a) the Director of Public Prosecutions and (b) the police are given access to Cabinet papers relevant to an investigation.

The Attorney-General

The Director of Public Prosecutions and the police would be given access to Cabinet papers where I, having consulted the Secretary of the Cabinet, regard it as necessary for the purposes of an investigation.
