Sir Peter Mills

asked the Secretary of State for Transport when he will announce the route of the new road between Sourton Cross and Launceston on the A30.

The preferred route following public consultation was announced in July 1982. The recent parliamentary decision about the adjacent Okehampton bypass has enabled work to resume on preparation of this scheme with a view to publication of proposals in 1987.

Our intention is that the road will be a dual carriageway.
