HC Deb 18 February 1986 vol 92 c149W
109. Mr. Prescott

asked the Paymaster General if his Department proposes to engage an advertising agency concerned with an unemployment information campaign; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

My Department is considering a publicity campaign with the aim of encouraging take up of the various schemes and services concerned with employment, training and enterprise. Many of these could give considerable help to unemployed people. We are concerned that many people and employers are either unaware of the range of options open to them in the labour market or are uncertain how and where to seek advice.

Following a competition for advertising proposals, Davidson Pearce plc was selected to work on the new campaign. Davidson Pearce plc already has a number of advertising accounts with my Department.
