HC Deb 18 February 1986 vol 92 c150W
120. Mr. Gale

asked the Paymaster General what promotional policy has been agreed as a result of meetings he has had with the British Tourist Authority and the English Tourist Board.

Mr. Trippier

The Boards have submitted proposals for increased expenditure in 1986–87 taking account of the Government's wish that additional emphasis should be placed on promoting areas of the country which could attract more tourists and where unemployment is high. These proposals are still under consideration. An announcement about the boards' new programmes will be made in due course.
