§ 28. Mr. Favellasked the Paymaster General what pilot schemes to asist the long-term unemployed are now being conducted.
§ Mr. LangAt present in addition to existing services the Manpower Services Commission is conducting the following initiatives to help long-term unemployed people.
—contacting some longer term unemployed people to provide the range of services available to them from Jobcentres.—operating over 30 job clubs.—in nine pilot areas providing a programme of counselling interviews and the job start scheme.Details of these schemes were given in my predecessor's reply to my hon. Friend on 21 January at column 124.
