§ Mr. TrippierGood progress has been made in following up the proposals contained in the White Paper "Lifting the Burden". Steps taken so far to reduce he burdens on business include the extension to two years of the qualifying period for access to an industrial tribunal in unfair dismissal cases; the introduction of new simplified building regulations; the publication of proposals for a review of the Use Classes Order; and proposals for amending legislation on wages councils and women's hours of work.
My right hon. and noble Friend has announced the Government's intention to publish a second White Paper on deregulation in the first half of this year.
