HC Deb 18 February 1986 vol 92 c124W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to prevent the use and misuse of gaming machines by juveniles in places to which the public have access.

Mr. Giles Shaw

The maximum stake and prize permitted in amusement with prizes machines are deliberately kept low, and jackpot machines, which offer bigger prizes, are not allowed in places to which the public have access. Premises with amusement with prizes machines must abtain permits under the Gaming Act 1968. We have no present plans to add to the existing controls in this area.
