HC Deb 18 February 1986 vol 92 c116W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what delays are occuring in the north-east section of the London ambulance service in respect of outpatient journeys; and what action he plans to take to seek to prevent their recurrence.

Mr. Whitney

I regret that because of increased demands on the London ambulance service's non-emergency services, delays do sometimes occur. The South West Thames regional health authority, which manages the LAS, is considering how those services can be improved and the hon. Member may wish to make his views known to the regional chairman. Improvements in the emergency service are expected as a result of the introduction of new staff working rotas on 3 March.
