§ Mr. MellorIn the financial year 1983–84 the Home Office contributed £121,334 to international effort against drug misuse and provided £276,217 to projects for drug misusers under the aftercare accommodation scheme. It is not possible to quantify the specific contribution to action against drug misuse made by other Home Office expenditure, such as that on the police, but it would, of course, have been very considerable.
