§ Mr. BrookeThe cost of administering the betting and gaming duties as a whole in 1984–85 was £6.4 million, or approximately 1 per cent. of the revenue raised. I regret that the part of this cost attributable to bingo duty cannot readily be ascertained, and it would in any case not be possible to identify the costs relating to the clubs my hon. Friend has in mind.
