§ Dr. Godmanasked the Prime Minister what cooperation there is between the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the DAFS in monitoring the additional demands made on the fisheries protection services by Spanish and Portuguese accession.
§ The Prime MinisterThere is full co-operation, including frequent meetings between the two fisheries Departments, to discuss the deployment of fisheries protection resources in response to enforcement needs. In addition, both Departments co-operate closely with the authorities in France and the Republic of Ireland on the surveillance arrangements.
