§ Mr. Maxtonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland to whom chairmen of boards of governors of colleges of education in Scotland are responsible for the actions taken by them.
§ Mr. Allan Stewart[pursuant to his reply, 6 February 1986, c. 233]: Regulation 4 of the Teachers (Colleges of Education) (Scotland) Regulations 1967 provides for the constitution of a governing body for each college of education; and regulation 11(3) of those regulations contains provision for each such governing body to elect a chairman. The chairman is responsible to the governing body as a whole, subject to any delegated authority which that governing body may have granted to him.
