HC Deb 04 February 1986 vol 91 c122W
Mr. Dubs

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why the six months period agreed at the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting to review the situation in South Africa has been put back to 30 June.

Mrs. Chalker

The Commonwealth accord clearly placed the proposed review of the situation in South Africa in the context of the work of the group of eminent persons. The members of the group met for the first time on 12 December and agreed with the Commonwealth Secretary- General that the review of their work should take place six months from the beginning of January 1986.
