HC Deb 04 February 1986 vol 91 cc112-3W
47. Mr. Fallon

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many parents appealed against their local authority's allocation of school places in 1985; and how many were successful.

Mr. Dunn

From inquiries made of local education authorities by the Department, it would appear that there were about 9,000 parental appeals against school admission decisions in 1985, of which some 4,000 were decided in parents' favour.
