asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list the percentage increase in fees charged for pattern examination under the Weights and Measures Act in each of the years 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984, respectively.

Since 1982 fees have been based on hourly charges, and these are shown in the table. Prior to 1982 fees were fixed according to pattern type and are not therefore directly comparable.124W
