Information on revenue lost by local authorities by defaulting ratepayers in 1984–85 is not available centrally. Total gross arrears at 31 March 1985, including arrears in respect of previous years for local authorities in England, is published by CIPFA as £361 million in "Rate collection Statistics 1984–85".
