HC Deb 04 February 1986 vol 91 c103W
Mr. Norman Atkinson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many Metropolitan police officers have been sent to Jamaica in connection with allegations about grants to Broadwater farm, Tottenham, during recent months; and if he will state the cost and the purpose of the visits.

Mr. Giles Shaw

Two Metropolitan police officers went to Jamaica to investigate allegations about the diversion of funds from the Broadwater Farm Youth Association. The cost was £6,368 in addition to the officers' salaries.

Preliminary and interim reports on the investigation have been passed to the Director of Public Prosecutions, but the final report will take some time to complete.
