§ Mr. Meadowcroftasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what progress has been made towards redesignating prisons in Yorkshire and Humberside and in transferring prisoners.
§ Mr. MellorHull will change from a dispersal prison to a local prison-remand centre on 22 February. Thorp Arch will change from a remand centre to a category C training prison on 3 March. Some transfer of prisoners has already begun.
§ Mr. Meadowcroftasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make a statement on the current state of industrial relations at her Majesty's prison, Leeds.
§ Mr. MellorThere are no particular industrial relations problems at Her Majesty's prison, Leeds, at the present time. Relations between management and the prison service trade union are good.
