asked the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the extent of the observance of the speed limit at the southern end of the M1; and if he will make a statement.

It is for the police to enforce speed limits. In keeping national speed limits under review, the Department has carried out surveys of vehicle speeds in a number of locations. These have not yet included the southern end of the M1.
