HC Deb 03 February 1986 vol 91 c80W
Mr. Caborn

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will give the precise criteria required by his Department's local offices for claimants to prove there is no suitable furnished accommodation available; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Newton

The chief adjudication officer, who provides guidance to local adjudication officers on the interpretation of the law, has recently issued revised guidance on the criteria to be taken into account when considering the suitability and availability of furnished accommodation; the revised guidance is at paragraphs 7176–7183 of the S manual, a copy of which is in the Library.
