Friend will have seen reported in the press on 29 January, London Taxis International has said that it no longer proposes to produce a CR6 taxi based on the Range Rover design but aims to develop and introduce a new taxi based on the existing FX4. The company states that the new taxi will still have the ability to carry wheelchair-bound passengers. My Department is discussing the implications of this change of plan with LTI.
