§ Mr. Gouldasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will publish in the Official Report a table showing for each local authority (a) the rate support grant as settlement spending assumption for 1987–88 plus, for those local authorities covered by joint boards following the abolition of the metropolitan counties and the Greater London council, the rate support grant for each joint board distributed in proportion to population, (b) in 1986 prices the actual rate support grant paid in 1978–79, plus for those district and borough councils in areas also covered by a metropolitan county or the former Greater London council the rate support grant paid to the upper tier authority distributed in proportion to their then population, (c) the absolute difference between the two figures and (d) the percentage difference between the two figures for each authority.
§ Mr. ChopeMy right hon. Friend has not yet announced the final RSG settlement for 1987–88. It is not therefore possible to make the comparison requested.
