§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the timetable for implementing the bilateral agreements for the multi-fibre arrangement.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkThe bilateral agreements will be implemented in the Community under regulations already agreed by all member states. The regulations are expected to be adopted by the Industry Council on 22 December following the lifting of the United Kingdom's parliamentary scrutiny reserve. This will enable the agreements to come into operation as planned on 1 January.
