HC Deb 19 December 1986 vol 107 c817W
Ms. Clare Short

asked the Paymaster General whether early leavers from the new job training scheme will be liable to the 13 week benefit penalty.

Mr. Trippier

I refer the hon. Member to my reply given on 28 November at column391 to the hon. Member for Caerphilly (Mr. Davies).

Ms. Clare Short

asked the Paymaster General what instructions have been issued on the fees that job training scheme placement agencies may charge employers for use of the labour of trainees.

Mr. Trippier

The new pilot job training schemes provide individually tailored programmes of integrated training and practical experience for people who have been unemployed for more than six months. Managing agents arranging new job training scheme programmes are encouraged to charge the providers of practical experience and use the income generated to help meet the costs of training. There is no set charge, which is a matter for agreement between the managing agent and the practical experience provider.
