§ Mr. LyellI have on 17 December laid the Social Security (Adjudication) Regulations 1986 and the Social Security (Payments on Account, Overpayments and Recovery) Regulations 1986, which are consequent on the Social Security Act 1986. The regulations will come into effect on 6 April 1987, and continue the process of applying common provisions to the administration of social security benefits. The changes will make it easier for claims for social security benefits to be dealt with more quickly and more accurately.
