HL Deb 18 December 1986 vol 483 c349WA
Baroness Masham of Ilton

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What is to be the policy of the police in future regarding the clamping of doctors' cars parked so as to cause no obstruction and displaying the discs agreed between the Metropolitan Police and the British Medical Association.

The Earl of Caithness

The badges issued by the British Medical Association confer no exemption from parking restrictions, but the commissioner has informed me that his officers exercise discretion in enforcing the restrictions where a vehicle displays a BMA badge, and that such vehicles are not normally wheelclamped.
