§ Mr. TrippierThe question of criteria used by principals of publicly funded colleges when selecting entrants is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science. For adult training provisions financed by the Manpower Services Commission, selection criteria will be largely determined by the demands of the course, and the qualifications, experience and personal qualities necessary to complete it successfully. Consideration will also be given to any specific requirements within the occupations and industry to which the training is directed.
