How many juveniles were sentenced under Section 53(2) of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 in 1985, and how many of these had been convicted of burglary and handling stolen goods respectively.

Information on the numbers sentenced under Section 53 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1933 is published annually inCriminal Statistics, England and Wales, Supplementary tables, Volume 2, Table S2. 1(A). One hundred and forty-six juveniles were detained in 1985 under Section 53(2) of the Act, 31 for burglary offences and none for handling stolen goods.
