§ Mr. WaldegraveBesides his statutory powers in connection with the listing of historic buildings and scheduling of ancient monuments, my right hon. Friend is responsible for the care of many historic buildings and monuments in Crown ownership or guardianship,582W including those managed on his behalf by the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England, to which my Department provides grant in aid. The Department also provides financial support to the National Heritage Memorial Fund and certain other bodies concerned with the built heritage.
