asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will list the names of the Crown Estate Paving Commissioners who are appointed by the Treasury; for what period these appointments last and whether they will deposit the accounts in the Libraries of both Houses of Parliament.

Lord Young of Graffham

The Crown Estate Paving Commissioners, who are appointed by the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury on the recommendation of the existing commissioners, are:

  • Lady Baddely
  • *Mr. D. J. Chapman
  • Mr. B. L. Dodridge
  • Mrs. V. P. Flower
  • Mr. G. C. L. Gay
  • Mr. D. A. Jacobs
  • Sir Basil Lindsay-Fynn
  • Mr. I. L. Mackeson-Sandbach
  • Mr. G. E. McWatters
  • Mr. J. H. Ritblat
  • *Hon. Timothy Sainsbury.
  • MP *Mr. B. Strong

The commissioners are appointed by deed and once appointed remain as commissioners with the exception of those indicated by a star, who are appointed by virtue of the offices they hold.

The Crown Estate Paving Commission (CEPC) is financially self-supporting; it receives no government grants. The accounts are available for inspection at the commissioner's office as required by statute, at any reasonable time.
