HC Deb 16 December 1986 vol 107 c480W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the purpose of the interport lists circulated within the immigration service; if he will place a copy of interport list 213/86 in the Library; and what criteria are observed in placing names of individuals or organisations on interport lists.

Mr. Waddington

The interport list is a means of transmitting to ports of entry a variety of operational information and instructions, including action to be taken in individual cases. The criterion for inclusion is a requirement to bring the information to the notice of operational staff at the earliest possible opportunity. It would not be right to place this type of information in the Library.
