Friend asked the chairman of the regional health authorities to lead their districts in an analysis of the nature, cause and extent of waiting list and waiting time problems. Their reports show that in many cases solutions to these problems can be found or significantly assisted by non-clinical activities through more effective management of existing resources and facilities. The Department and regions are now acting on those reports.
