HC Deb 12 December 1986 vol 107 c233W
Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what proposals he has for the provision of a passenger waiting room at Portaferry for the Portaferry-Strangford ferry; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Needham

The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland is planning to provide a shelter for the use of Strangford Lough ferry service passengers convenient to the hoarding point at Portaferry.

Mr. John David Taylor

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland why the new mooring rings were not provided in September 1986 at the Portaferry terminals of the Portaferry-Strangford ferry; where these mooring rings are; when it is proposed to place them in position; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Needham

The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland proposes to place new mooring rings in position at the Portaferry slipway next week. It was not practicable to install them in September 1986.
