Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the current United Kingdom land holding of his Department in terms of freehold leasehold and access rights; and how many acres have been disposed of and for what purpose in each of the past five years.

It is Ministry of Defence policy to dispose of land which is not essential for the support of the armed forces, but the purpose for which a purchaser buys the land is not known.
