HC Deb 12 December 1986 vol 107 cc314-5W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Attorney-General how, in considering possible legal proceedings arising from alleged breaches of confidentiality in relation to classified information, he distinguishes between his roles as prosecutor in criminal proceedings and as nominal plaintiff in civil proceedings.

The Attorney-General

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the reply I gave to the right hon. and learned Member for Aberavon (Mr. Morris) on 8 December at column 2. The distinction between criminal and civil proceedings derives from the general law.
