How many persons are currently engaged under YTS by (a) multiple retailers, (b) retail co-operative societies, (c) other retailers. What proportion of the total number of persons undergoing Youth Training is represented by trainees engaged in retail distribution.
§ The Secretary of State for Employment (Lord Young of Graffham)I regret that the information is not available in the precise form requested, as the Manpower Services Commission Management Information System is not currently collecting YTS1340WA statistics by occupation. However, between 1st April and 31st December 1985, the last date when statistics were collected by occupation, there were 363,183 starters of YTS. Of these, 68,505 (19 per cent.) entered personal services and sales places. This included starters outside retail distribution.
