§ Mr. John Fraserasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will seek to reduce traffic disruption by arranging for high security prisoners held in remand, who are on trial at the Central Criminal Court, to be lodged during the period of their trials at a secure place close to the court in place of Brixton prison.
§ Mr. MellorIn the longer term the new prison and adjacent Crown court at Woolwich should reduce the need for high security escorts. In the meantime there is no suitable accommodation nearer to the Central Criminal court than Brixton prison.
