§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will publish in the Official Report such information as is available to show the average sentence given, and the actual sentence served, for (a) rape, (b) attempted rape, (c) manslaughter, (d) occasioning grievous bodily harm and (e) murder in each of the past 10 years;
(2) if he will publish in the Official Report such information as is available as to how the average time actually served in prison by offenders sentenced to a term of three years' imprisonment, seven years' imprisonment, 10 years' imprisonment, 15 years' imprisonment, 20 years' imprisonment, 30 years' imprisonment and life imprisonment, respectively; and if he will make a statement.
