§ Mr. Maxtonasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what financial resources have been allocated by the Medical Research Council for research into a vaccine for acquired immune deficiency syndrome and into possible cures for those at present suffering from the disease.
§ Mr. WaldenI understand that the MRC as allocated about £1.5 million in grants for research on AIDS. While none of this research holds immediate promise of leading to a vaccine against AIDS a number of virological studies that are relevant to the design of future potential vaccines are in progress.
